# The board and tasks

> How the CEO assigns work, how agents report back, and how to add tasks yourself.

The **Board** is your company's work, like a task tracker. The CEO writes tasks and assigns them, and each agent picks up its task, does it, and closes it with a written report.

## The columns

| Column | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **To do** | Not started yet, or waiting because the assignee is busy with another task |
| **In progress** | The assignee is working on it |
| **Blocked** | The assignee couldn't finish it. The report says why |
| **Done** | Finished, with a report of what was done |

Cancelled tasks are left off the board. Tasks held up by a question for you show **Waiting on you**.

## How a task runs

1. A task gets a number, such as **#3**, a title and a brief.
2. Once assigned, the agent starts it right away, unless it's already working. Each agent works on one task at a time, oldest first.
3. The agent closes the task as **Done** or **Blocked**, with a report: what was done, where it is, and what's left.
4. If an agent can't finish, the task becomes **Blocked**. The CEO can assign it again, and the agent continues where it left off.

Select a task to open it, read its brief and report, and watch the agent's work on it.

## Add a task yourself

Select **New task** on the board, write a title and a brief, and pick who should do it. A good brief says the goal, the context, what "done" looks like, and what to hand back.

> You can also just ask the CEO in your chat. It writes the task and picks the right agent for you.
